corporate volunteering
We are grateful to our many corporate supporters who have made Hope Nottingham their 'charity of choice' for financial donations, food collections, gifts in kind and team volunteering days. We know that lots of organisations have really enjoyed spending time with us and whilst we do not wish to exclude those without volunteering day budgets, it does take planning and oversight for us to accommodate teams for ad hoc days which, with a very limited staff team does incur costs for us in time and salary.

We therefore ask all organisations and teams of employees to consider how they can support the sustainability of our work by either making a financial donation or bringing food or essentials for our food bank to top up our supplies. As a guide we encourage donations equivalent to either a single (£30), couple (£35) or family (£45) parcel cost per person attending. To find out what is included in out parcels and our most needed items please see here. To make a financial donation please see our Ways to Give page.

Our volunteering days are in high demand and our currently available opportunities can be found below. Please be aware that all groups need to review and sign a risk assessment before attending, and one employee needs to take the role of supervisor. Whilst we have public liability insurance you will need to check your own company's insurance requirements.

Carlton Sensory Garden for the Blind, 317a Carlton Hill, Carlton NG4 1GL

Originally opened in 1990, this refreshed community park features sensory planting, tactile elements and accessible seating. Early in 2025, Gedling Borough Council asked Hope Nottingham to help maintiam this valuable space and as it is close to our beloved Carlton Community Hub, which has no garden space, we feel it brings an extra layer to our volunteering opportunities and support of the local community. It needs a regular tidy up to keep it looking well-presented.

Food purchase and packing events to support Hope Nottingham Food bank network

An increasing number of our corporate partners book annual 'Days of Caring' where they fund purchase of much needed items for a food parcel sorting or packing event. This can be held at their own premises or depending on our hall availability at Hope House, at our hub in Beeston. Value of food for such events has ranged from £500 to £12,000! Where we have existing restricted funding for food which needs spending to a deadline, we ask for corporates to unrestrict the cost to help us with general running costs. Food may be sorted, dated, or packed into crates or bags ready for distribution to our food banks.
