Emergency food if you are in crisis
We are aware how easy it is for anyone to fall into a financial crisis and be unable to afford food.
Our Foodbanks are here to help you.
We operate a voucher referral system. All you need to do is request a voucher from one of our referral agencies, please don’t worry, this can usually be done very quickly. We have over 500 registered referrers through East and West Nottingham. These include:
- Citizens Advice Bureau
- Council / Housing Association
- Support / Social Worker
- Health Visitor
- Your child’s school
- DWP / Job Centre
- Children’s Centres
- Healthcare provider
- Charity Organisation
- Mental Health Teams
Once you have your referral voucher you can take this to any of our Foodbanks to receive a food parcel for a minimum of 3 days of nutritiously balanced food. See the location page for locations and opening times.
Food banks are designed to provide short-term, emergency support with food during a crisis. They aim to relieve that immediate pressure by providing food, but also to offer additional support so that people don’t need to use the food bank again in the future, many of our Foodbanks will have Befrienders on duty who may be able to signpost you to other services.
